Featured Speaker for April 8th Meeting: Christine LoConte The Dubin Alzheimer's Center Christine LoConte, a Southwest Florida native and fellow Rotarian, began her career at 17 as a professional caregiver for individuals with Alzheimer's, sparking a lifelong passion for supporting the aging population. Her grandmother's experience with the disease deepened her commitment to the field, and she went on to run a memory care in an assisted living community. Christine has dedicated most of her career to nonprofit work and holds a master's degree in Social Impact. In July 2024, she became the CEO of The Dubin Center, where she continues to advocate for, and support individuals and families affected by dementia. Sandra Worth is the Founder and Executive Director of My Autism Connection (MAC), a nonprofit organization that equips adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder with social, career, and life skills to support greater independence. A Certified Autism Specialist, Sandra founded MAC in 2012 after recognizing the lack of resources for autistic adults transitioning from school into adulthood—an issue she experienced firsthand as the parent of a son with autism. Prior to her work in the nonprofit sector, she spent 20 years in healthcare as a radiographer. Featured Speaker for May 13th Meeting: Sherri-Lee Mercuri President & Executive Director Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue Sherri has been involved in animal rescue for more than three decades working with animals from all kinds of backgrounds. In 2014, she made it official and founded Royal Canadian Pooch Rescue in Ontario, which focused on networking with other rescues to help needy animals both North and South of the Canadian border. Shortly thereafter, she moved to the US and continued her mission to help as many innocent souls as possible. She enrolled in Cesar’s Way Dog Training and became certified; not to become a dog trainer but knowing the skills learned in that program would be beneficial in animal rescue.
