Amy Turner

Sally J. Pimentel Deaf & Hard of Hearing Center
Amy Turner is the Executive Director of the Sally J. Pimentel Deaf & Hard of Hearing Center, a nonprofit agency, where she champions equal communication access for the Deaf and hard of hearing community. Before stepping into this role, she worked at the Lighthouse of SWFL for the Blind and Visually Impaired, advocating for individuals with vision loss.
A dedicated leader, Amy has served two terms as President of the American Business Women’s Association Imperial River Chapter and now serves as Chair of the ABWA Southwest Florida District Council (2026–2027).
As an active Rotarian since 2015, Amy has led numerous community service projects and built strong collaborations to support local initiatives. Through her work, she has strengthened partnerships between organizations and engaged volunteers in meaningful service.
Amy enjoys gardening, cooking, trips to Home Depot, and playing the piano. She also shares a love of traveling while embracing new cultures and experiences.

Established in 1983, the mission of the Sally J. Pimentel Deaf & Hard of Hearing Center (DHHC) is to empower Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals and their families in Southwest Florida through education, advocacy, and community engagement.
Serving Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, and Glades counties, DHHC provides comprehensive services including interpreting, American Sign Language (ASL) classes, Deaf Mentor and education programs, youth initiatives, Deaf Senior programs, support groups, workforce readiness, free amplified phone program, advocacy, and community outreach.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and proud United Way partner agency, DHHC receives funding and support from the Lee County Board of County Commissioners, the City of Cape Coral, United Way, regional foundations, private donors, and community leaders committed to strengthening communication access throughout the region.
