They assess and treat children believed to have been physically or sexually abused or to be at-risk of such abuse and provide a safe place for them to come and be heard. CAC offers abuse determination services, therapeutic counseling, parenting education, and prevention programs in Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Charlotte Counties. They are one of the largest children’s advocacy centers in the state of Florida and the only one in the four-county area. CAC is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance. Featured Speakers for June 5th Meeting: Dan Hall & Mark Moody Recap of the RYLA Experience Dan is a rising Senior at Fort Myers High School. He is in the IB program and is a captain of the Lacrosse team. He is a member of the interact club and has attended the YMCA Youth in Government symposium in Tallahassee earlier this year, where he was awarded runner-up for best new legislation. Dan also attended RYLA earlier this year and is here to tell us about his experiences. Mark Moody has been a member of Rotary since 2009. He was District 6250 Rotary Friendship Exchange co-chair and organized exchanges with Rotary districts in Nepal, India, Chile, Peru, Australia & Latvia. He has been with TSA for 20 years and has been a canine handler for 4 years. Ken’s assigned partner is a 5-year-old German Short Hair Pointer named Don. Danny F. Caraway is a Supervisory Training Specialist for the Transportation Security Administration at the Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) Mission Support/Training Department. His primary responsibilities are Field Evaluation Testing Coordinator supporting the live environment testing, analysis, and training of TSA Officers, Training Department Management and Supervision at RSW, and oversight for the Punta Gorda Airport Training Department. Featured Speaker for July 3rd Meeting: Gary Bryant Lieutenant Colonel - U.S. Army Retired Gary Bryant served on active duty as an Army Aviator leading and commanding Army Aviation units around the world. He served in Headquarters, US Central Command in the joint force command center for General Norman Schwarzkopf during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  After retiring from active duty, Gary served as the officer in charge of the Junior ROTC program for the School District of Lee County. Gary has two sons who both served as Army Officers and completed combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Candy’s duties as a Corrections Deputy included the care, custody, and control of inmates in her assigned area during their daily activities. Candy attended and passed The Southwest Florida Public Service Academy’s crossover from Corrections to Law Enforcement Class, passing the state exam in 2006. In January of 2015, Candy was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Corrections Bureau. Her duties as a Sergeant within the Corrections Bureau were to supervise a shift, direct operations, prepare performance evaluations, inmate releases, oversee facility security and sanitation, and perform daily inspections of the facility.
