  • Christine Rose is currently a Crime Scene Technician with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Fort Myers, Florida.
  • Christine has worked in Law Enforcement for 10 years; 8 of those years have been with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Division, Crime Scene Unit.
  • Christine has training in Crime Scene Reconstruction, Staged Scenes, and Cold Case Investigations. She also plays an active role in educating future Crime Scene Technicians as the Field Training Officer for the Crime Scene Unit.
  • Christine has an Associate’s Degree from Tallahassee Community College, two Bachelor Degrees; Criminal Justice and Forensic Studies from Florida Gulf Coast University. She is a Certified Crime Scene Analyst through the International Association for Identification.
  • Christine began at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office during her college years through an Internship Program. During her internship, she was exposed to numerous crime scenes and gained invaluable experience. She was able to observe the progress of a homicide investigation from the scene to the courtroom. Christine witnessed the hard work and dedication of the Crime Scene Technicians and Homicide Detectives, who provided a thorough investigation, resulting in a conviction. Christine knew she wanted to be a part of the team and joined the Lee County Sheriff’s Office in 2011.
  • Christine has worked on numerous homicide investigations, multijurisdictional narcotics investigations, sexual assaults, officer-involved shootings, and other violent crimes throughout her career.
  • Christine has been involved in many high-profile homicide investigations and has assisted with many state and federal investigations.
  • In 2018, Christine won the outstanding Civilian Member of the year award from the Southwest Florida Police Chiefs Association for her involvement in a complex homicide investigation and identifying a male victim from a cold case homicide investigation.

  • Kimberly Van Waus is currently a Crime Scene Technician with the Lee County Sheriffs Office.
  • Kim has worked in law enforcement for almost 20 years; 15 of those years have been in the Crime Scene Unit.
  • Kim has an Associate’s Degree in Crime Scene Technology, a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Forensics, and is a Certified Crime Scene Analyst through the International Association for Identification.
  • Kim specializes in Blood Pattern Analysis, Crime Scene Reconstruction, and Cold Case Investigation. She has testified as an expert witness in both Bloodstain Pattern Analysis and Shooting Incident Reconstruction in state and federal courtrooms.
  • Throughout her career, Kim has worked on over 1,000 crime scenes, including over 200 homicides.
  • Kim has been involved in numerous high-profile homicides and state and federal investigations.
  • Kim takes an active role in educating new Detectives and future Crime Scene Technicians.
  • She is continuously increasing her knowledge and her skills through education and experience.
  • With the passion and dedication of her and her team, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office has brought justice to many victims and their families. Kim has an amazing support system who understands that the job will sometimes come first, but it will always be the foundation for her accomplishments.
