Peters has spent his career in minor league baseball, also working for teams in Jacksonville and New Orleans.
“I am a firm believer that every community in America should have a minor league baseball team where fans can come out and have a fun night,” he says. “A minor league team is as important to a community as a movie theater. There’s just some real, authentic, family fun that comes from going to a ballgame. And we’re excited that we can bring 70 home games a year to the Southwest Florida community.”
John Martin, a minority owner of the Mussels for the last two seasons, elevated his status to majority owner and managing partner of the team in 2022 and is ready to put his vision of the team into play.
Martin, 42, transitioned into an active role in the Mussels’ front office on February 2022. He oversees all club operations while maintaining his role as president of multiple agricultural companies in Illinois.
“It’s a humbling thought to realize that I have the opportunity to help shape the future of a franchise that has nearly 100 years of history and multiple Hall of Famers.”
