A Rotarian in southwest Florida since 1992, Pete served as District Governor for the 2014-2015 term and has been honored as District 6960 “Rotarian of the Decade” 2011-2020.
PDG Pete has served as President for two Rotary Clubs: The Rotary Clubs of Fort Myers South & Fort Myers Sunrise.
Pete and his wife, Cyndi, are both active in their Club, District and at the Zone level. They are both Major Donors, members of the Bequest Society, Benefactors, Paul Harris Society Members, Discussion Leaders for (RLI) Rotary Leadership Institute and as Zone Training Leaders, as well as members of the 2017 RI Convention Executive Committee, held in Atlanta, GA.
Pete is currently chair of the O-E Rotary Youth Exchange Multi-District serving 14 districts from Florida to Ohio, and our District RYE Chair.
Pete served as District Foundation Chair from 2016-2019, and as the District Council on Legislation Representative in 2019. In 2019 he Chaired the District Million Dollar Dinner campaign which raised $2.3 Million for The Rotary Foundation in 6 months. He previously served as Operations Chair and House of Friendship Chair for All Florida PETS. He is a Certified RLI Foundation Graduate Course Discussion Leader and in 2020-21 as District RLI Chair.
. He served as District 6960’s Secretary, as Assistant Governor, Conference Chair, Rotary Youth Exchange Chair and as a Past Chairman of Rotary Youth Exchange Florida, which encompassed 9 Districts. PDG Pete has been honored as “Rotarian of the Year” by his Club, Fort Myers South, and Pete and Cyndi have each been honored as recipients of the distinguished District “Service Above Self” Award!
As Governor, Pete initiated the District RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Program. He led the way, establishing record TRF (The Rotary Foundation) giving as well as a membership gain for District 6960, which was a first for several years.
PDG Pete is a graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, DC and received his law degree with highest honors from Florida State University. Pete practices law in Fort Myers, Florida, has been married to Cyndi for almost 30 years, and they have five children, with two Eagle Scouts, and ALL are Florida State Seminoles, “Go Noles!
Pete enjoys football, baseball, basketball, boating, hiking and is an avid reader, and has served as a volunteer Guardian Ad Litem in Lee County since March 2018.
