Featured Speaker for May 28th Meeting: Dianne Piercy Teacher - Allen Park Elementary School Dianne Piercy has been an elementary school physical education teacher for 38 years, guided by her love for children and the outdoors. In 2012, she began volunteering at a community garden, where she discovered the joy of growing food and sharing it with those in need. This passion quickly found its way into her teaching. Since 2013, she has incorporated gardening into her physical education classes, helping students learn how to plant, care for, and harvest their own food. In 2024, with generous support from the Rotary Club—including planting towers and garden supplies—more children have been given the opportunity to connect with nature in a hands-on way.
