Scarecrows in the Park Fundraiser Last 3 Weekends in October Parking at Lakes Park Our club's participation in Scarecrows in the Park starts in one month.  This is a significant fundraiser for us and helps us fund our projects throughout the year.  As in years past, our participation is for three weekends and begins on Friday October 13.  Our final day will be Sunday October 29. Lakes Park charges a $3 parking fee for this event and our job is to collect it for them.  This is a fun and exciting time of the year and we will be outside, stationed at the front gate as you enter the park from Gladiolus Drive.  The park will be decorated for Halloween and will be attended by many families with small children.  We will accept cash or credit cards (via our phones) and each interaction will typically last about one minute or less. She graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University and has been with Lee County Solid Waste since January of 2021. Prior to that, Kylar worked for the Department of Health. She enjoys working with the community and teaching others about recycling. Things to Know: Please wear closed walking shoes (tennis shoes are good) and a shirt that covers at least the top half of your arms. He has held many positions both for his club and our district. Most recently, he was our District Membership Chair for the past three years. Gerard is currently our District Governor Nominee and will serve as our District Governor in 2025-26. Gerard is a member of the Rotary Club of Bonita Beach Sunset, a club that he helped to create six years ago. Gerard has three children, 18, 15 and 12. All of his children have taken part in many of our Rotary Youth Programs with his daughter having just returned from studying aboard in Germany last year as part of Rotary Youth Exchange. Kevin attended Brooklyn College as a political Science major for 2 years and enlisted in Navy February 2nd, 1976. He retired September 5th, 2005. Kevin worked at Alamo/National Car Rental for 12 years as Sales Manager. In December of 2008, he was asked if he could help as finance Officer and in 2009 was elected as Post Commander. During this period, Kevin served on the American Red Cross board for 9 years, the Police Athletic League (PAL) for 13 years, River District Alliance for 11 years and the last 8 years as Chairman of the Board for RDA. Prior to his current position, Todd spent many years managing large scale communities with resort-style amenities after he spent the first half of his career turning around distressed restaurants. Todd holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Western Michigan University and has earned the CMCA and AMS designations from the Community Association Institute (CAI). Volunteerism has been very important to Todd. He has served on several boards and committees to facilitate business growth in his community and has worked to provide resources for the food and housing challenged populations. Featured Speaker for January 17th Meeting: Stan Nelson & Shari Clark Update on Pine Manor Stan Nelson is the Planning and Research Director for the Lee County Sheriff’s Department. Currently, he serves as the president of the board of directors of the Pine Manor Improvement Association. Stan is an incredibly talented grant writer. Shari Clark is a US Army veteran who served in the Gulf War. When she left the military, she moved to Ft. Myers to be with her mother in her final months. She worked for Arizona Beverages. When they closed their operations here, Shari went to the Pine Manor Community Center to apply for unemployment and use the computers to search for jobs. She volunteered to help others with job searches. Her skills soon led to being hired as a part-time Outreach Coordinator.
