He served in Headquarters, US Central Command in the joint force command center for General Norman Schwarzkopf during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  After retiring from active duty, Gary served as the officer in charge of the Junior ROTC program for the School District of Lee County. Gary has two sons who both served as Army Officers and completed combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is in the IB program and is a captain of the Lacrosse team. He is a member of the interact club and has attended the YMCA Youth in Government symposium in Tallahassee earlier this year, where he was awarded runner-up for best new legislation.
