Chief Meteorologist – Channel 2 NBC
Allyson Rae rejoined the NBC2 weather team in October 2017.
Allyson previously worked for ABC7 and NBC2 from 2010 to 2014. After spending three years at the CBS affiliate in Washington DC, WUSA9, she returns as the weekday morning meteorologist. After covering one of the most significant snow events for the region, the Blizzard of 2016, she couldn’t wait to return to SWFL, the area she calls home.
Before 2010, Allyson worked in the tornado-prone southern Gulf States at WSFA in Montgomery, AL, and her first job at KNOE in Monroe, LA.
A Pittsburgh native, Allyson graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Meteorology. She also holds a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal from the American Meteorology Society.
Before Allyson left for DC, she married her husband, Dan, in the Tampa Bay area. Allyson and Dan are parents to their Corgi dog, Ybor, named after Ybor City near where they adopted him.
