John Bodner
Lee County Clerk’s Office
John Bodner currently serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for the Lee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. In his role, Bodner is responsible for overseeing special projects designed to enhance the efficiency of office operations. He is also responsible for identifying new legislative initiatives and the implementation of newly signed legislation for the organization.
Bodner previously served as Assistant County Administrator of Lancaster County, SC, where he led numerous departments, countywide special projects and championed strategic planning and fiscally responsible budgeting practices. In Florida, John served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Lee County Tax Collector, overseeing the collection of $1.8 billion in taxes and fees that support Lee County municipalities and taxing authorities.
Bodner is actively involved in his community and has served on many boards and committees, including the Kentucky Project Management Institute Advisory Board, ICMA Technical Advisory Board, ICMA Welcome Ambassadors, United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades County Allocation Committee, Lee County School District Finance Advisory Committee and Lee County Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. He is a graduate of Leadership Southwest Florida Class of 2021, Leadership Lancaster Class of 2023, and a past member of Lancaster County Rotary Club.
Bodner earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Eastern Kentucky University and his master’s degree in business administration from Murray State University. He is also a certified Project Management Professional and has also completed the ICMA Emerging Leaders Development Program and the South Carolina Local Government Leadership Institute.
Bodner is married and has four wonderful children.
